LongSpoon
The LongSpoon project began in spring 2005 during the recording of the song Green Eyed Hungry Machines at Audio sorcery. Created by Paul Bennett, a singer song writer/musician who started life out in the Royal Marines where he found a passion for the guitar and writing. Following the first recording, Paul set about creating the band.
LongSpoon now consists of Paul Bennett, Eddie Collins, Pete Shaw and Timmy Moore. Other artists that have joined the project playing live or on the album include a variety of musicians, including Gez Butcher, James Fairfoul, Larry Oliver, Justin Hankey, Grant Tunbridge and David Driver. The band's live sound is a combination of raw enthusiasm and hard won experience, with the freedom of expression for each musician to create a sound that is both original and exciting.
LongSpoon is first and foremost a live band that perform with a powerful sound and distinctive melodies to create that feel good factor that live shows should have. Their aim is to give every audience a performance that's unique, memorable and, above all, enjoyable.
So far this year the lads have headlined Canary Wharf's premier music festival for Red Nose day "Wharfstock," supported "Absolute Bowie, "The Thirst" whilst continually playing throughout the original bands circuit in the South East of England. They are now writing and recording new tracks for the second album that is well on the way. These new songs are currently being aired at live performances.
The band released their debut album 'Symphony Of Man' which in September 2008, which has been generating some good reviews. In fact the songs are being used as a soundtrack on an independent film called "Makers" that is coming out soon! The band can be seen at some of the festivals this year, including Tunbridge Wells Local & live, at Gazzastock festival, Aylesford festival and of course Fahrenheit festival.
