As We Climb
As We Climb are a 4-piece punk-pop group from Cambridge. The band lists some of their influences as New Found Glory, Midtown, Fastlane, and “A”, amongst others.
As We Climb evolved from the remains of Ben (Guitar/Vocals) and James’s (Guitar/Backing) old band “This Is My Honesty”, who, After a 2-3 years of recording and gigging, chose to call it a day.
The two boys decided to form a new band, taking all the things that had worked well in “This is my Honesty” and leaving behind all the things that hadn’t worked so well.
Ben and James had crossed paths with the band “5th Time Lucky” before,
and had got to know their front man BenTF (Drummer/Backing), who had
also spent a brief stint drumming for Towers of London. Ben and James
asked BenTF, if he’d be interested in becoming the drummer for their
new band. The boys came together and created, what they describe as,
“Heavy Pop”.
After a few months work in the rehearsal studio, writing songs and perfecting their sound, the three boys organised some auditions to find a bassist and Ryan (Bassist) was ultimately recruited. As We Climb were complete.
The band recently recorded at Outhouse Studios (Enter Shikari, You Me
At Six, Funeral For A Friend, etc) with producer Matt O’Grady (of
“Fastlane” Fame). The boys completed their debut offering as a band
entitled “Tell It To My Tombstone”, which can now be heard on their
myspace page at: myspace.com/asweclimb
As We Climb are now playing a string of shows and will join Producer Matty O'Grady in his new custom built studio in late July 2009 to record their debut mini-album, with a tour to follow.
